CHICAGO: Kim Foxx is responsible for the death of Adam Toledo
Updated: May 4
Adam Toledo got the gun from the known criminal he was hanging out with, 21-year-old Ruben Roman, who should have been behind bars, but was out on the streets due to the gross negligence of Chicago Cook County prosecutor Kim Foxx - which makes this the fault of Kim Foxx who let Ruben back out onto the street in the first place.
21-year-old Ruben Roman had been with Adam Toledo and allegedly fired the gunshots that drew officers to the Little Village scene last month.
Roman now faces felony charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, as well as child endangerment and violating probation.
Prosecutors said nearby surveillance video captured the moment Roman fired shots early on the morning of March 29 at a passing vehicle while Adam stood next to him at 24th Street and Sawyer Avenue.
OPINION: Ruben probably gave the gun to Adam to get rid of because Ruben was not supposed to be possessing a weapon. Adam never would have had a gun at all if Ruben were behind bars which is where he should have been.
The circular firing squad: Assistant Public Defender Courtney Smallwood rejected prosecutor Murphy's claims that Roman was endangering Adam, saying there was no proof that the gun belonged to Roman, that he was wearing the red gloves that tested positive for gunshot residue or that he even brought Adam outside with him in the first place.
“The victim is dead at the hands of the Chicago police officers, not my client,” Smallwood said.
A veteran Cook County prosecutor was placed on administrative leave Friday night because he “failed to fully present the facts” during a bond hearing last week when he didn’t specifically state that 13-year-old Adam Toledo was unarmed at the moment a Chicago police officer shot him, according to State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office.
Make no mistake - 13-year-old Adam Toledo (Chicago) is dead as a result of the Chicago Cook County prosecutor (Kim Foxx) who let 21-year-old Ruben Roman back out onto the streets.
This is laughable as the public defender for Ruben states, “The victim is dead at the hands of the Chicago police officers, not my client.” The victim is dead because of Kim Foxx.
